Generate Light Magic Example by Ascynd Generate Light Magic Example by Ascynd
Example for the Intermediate Light magic ability: Generate light. Featuring Iset (Djehuti's mom, lol). The background is just a free clipart, I take no credit for it.

Tried out some new techniques, not sure if I like how they came out, but they may have some potential with practice.

Excellent, Ascynd. :]
I guess I never imagined where they would generate light! I suppose creating an orb of light is a cool way to do it! After all there needs to be some light source! I wonder if they can make parts of their body glow or anything.

Yes I think they could make objects glow, or body parts... heh... I just imagined making small orbs of light sort of the way you can  make small balls of flame with fire magic would be one way to do it.

Glad you like it! I decided to remove the black and white pattern under Iset's wings and do a simple gradient instead, and restrict the "freckles" to her head only, heh. I can also draw her broad collar in an extremely simplified fashion that is like a kid's costume version or something. I will still draw the complex version in my own drawings, but a simple one would be fine for the reference.

Yep. sounds good to me. ;)

And YESSSS please simple for NPC reference. x'D And then you can just go crazy in your own art, hahah. At least that way people won't feel like their leaving details out.

Looks great to me. You really have a knack for color I think.

Thanks! It's the shadows that look a bit off to me, I have some trouble with close point light sources directly above or below, heh. Also the character looks a bit wonked in my perception but that varies from drawing to drawing, its one of the things I'm getting practice with doing this. Keeping characters consistent.

I can't say on the character, but light sources are always a problem for me too.
