I was born and raised in upstate South Carolina. I graduated from Winthrop University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree specializing in jewelry and metals. I have worked as Bench Jeweler, designing and repairing fine jewelry as well as designing and manufacturing fantasy style armor and costuming.
I have always loved to draw, but I seriously became interested in the field of illustration in 2008 when a friend suggested I check out www.conceptart.org I was immediately fascinated by the online artists’ community and quickly became infatuated with the weekly competitions on the site. Since then I have become increasingly aware of the amazing volume of encouragement, inspiration, and camaraderie that is shared by the presence of so many incredible artists online.
I attended the Illustration Master Class in Amherst, MA the first time in 2011 and went back in 2012. Truth be told if I could go every year I would. The amazing instructors and the caliber of student artists make the IMC an invaluable experience. I can't thank the IMC enough.
I have been working as a Freelance Illustrator since the summer of 2010. My first work was for WildFire LLC. Since then I have worked for companies such as Fantasy Flight Games, Alderac Entertainment Group, and Catalyst Game Labs. I also had an illustration appear in Spectrum: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art # 19 in 2012.
