COMMISSIONED WORK

By purchasing my art services, you automatically agree to the following conditions.
Please read this entirely and carefully. If there are any questions or concerns, send me a private note.

PAYMENT

❖ All payment should be in USD or NOK. Via PayPal. DeviantArt points are only acceptable as payment if specified by me.
I reserve the right to decide the price for individual commissions, regardless of pricing stated elsewhere.
❖ All payment should be made through invoice method. I will invoice you. DO NOT send me any payment outside of this invoice.
❖ Payment is due in full up front for any commission, unless specified otherwise. Payment plan availability must be discussed with me and is not a guaranteed option.
A refund during or prior to the sketch stage contains a 25% deduction for slot occupation. Once a WIP sketch has been approved, or from start if one isn't needed, then I will be unable to refund you. Chargebacks are absolutely NOT allowed.
❖Revisions of the artwork is only possible during the sketch stage, during which you may request a WIP. Revisions due to a dislike of style, change of mind or failure to specify details during the order will not be granted unless I agree to it, during which I reserve the right to add a fee of my choice over the edit. Unreasonably high nitpicking on details is also not allowed. Anything that needs to be fixed on my mistake will be fixed for free, but unjust demands might lead to a cancellation of the commission.
❖You will receive the full resolution only after the payment is made in full.

ARTIST

By commissioning me, you're purchasing my artist labor and only a partial right to a design/art piece. I retain all copyrights over my work, which include but are not limited to the right to distribute, reproduce or use the image as a sample for sales/self-promotion.

❖ I will respect your request to not publicly post your commission. No explanation necessary.
❖ I will not claim the Intellectual Property or reuse/resell the image for personal and commercial projects unless agreed upon.
❖ I reserve the right to reject your commission proposal without question, as well as cancel ongoing commissions.

COMMISSIONER

You may upload the work done for you to your site as long as it is credited and linked back to my gallery. Once a piece is commissioned, you may use it for any personal use that you please, including but not limited to icons, signatures, layouts, wallpapers, themes and personal site display.

❖ You retain the rights to the IP.
❖ You may not claim the work to be your own, edit, resell or set it up for redistribution. You may not use it for any external projects, commercial or non-commercial unless agreed upon.
❖ If you are looking for something to redistribute, reproduce, use for your project(s), as an ad, for a video, to resell at conventions etc. Speak to me for information on commercial prices/royalty fees.
❖ Always credit me if displaying the piece publicly.

If you are not sure whether your request counts as personal, feel free to ask me about its intended use.

PROCEDURE

Preface. You understand that Arvata is not working with only your priorities in mind. They will take steps that are time consuming and slow. Additionally, while they do work hard to give you a custom-tailored quality product, they will not work for commissioners who demand an unreasonable amount of edits. Please do not commission them if you are looking for fast or timely work or if you are extremely nitpicky.

❖ Note me your request privately in a note on DeviantArt(unless another place has been specified) with any necessary information, explaining your idea for the piece.
❖ By paying the invoice through PayPal, you acknowledge that the commission is digital and will not be physically shipped.
❖ After payment is received: I sketch, color and paint depending on your commission type.

❖ Please be reasonably available during the process in the event that further communication is needed.
❖ A full size, tiny watermark image will be given of the finished artwork. It is necessary that you use a watermark/resized version of the image before sharing publicly.

I DO NOT DRAW

NSFW
Extreme fetishes
Hate/offensive art
Overly complex characters/backgrounds

My DeviantArt Story

Journal Entry: Fri Aug 8, 2014, 6:28 PM

I originally didn't plan to do this, but things rarely go as I plan so... heeere we go!

I joined DeviantArt 8 years ago in February 2006, hesitantly posting my traditional art without really knowing if I liked sharing it or not. After a while, I realized how neat and convenient it was to have my drawings collected in a place like this, to not mention how nice it felt to meet people and get feedback as well, and it soon became a habit to upload everything I made, back then including dragons, various fantasy creatures, school things and casual doodles. Eventually I made some FFXI and Malice Mizer-related art as well, as I around that period of time became strongly attached to the two. Here's a few(old) examples, though none older than 2006 because I never scanned from beyond then:

Three Friends by Arvata Brown Dragon by Arvata Orange/Purple Dragon by Arvata Another Dragon by Arvata Chocobos by Arvata

It wasn't until 2010, though, that I started to make use of my DA for real, posting loads of art(mainly Pokémon) and slowly but surely beginning to explore digital drawing(using mouse & Photoshop to edit my traditional sketches) as well.
Contest Entry: Wolves Within by Arvata Pokemon and Digimon Together by Arvata

In 2011 I went on a one-year long trip to Florida, bringing a laptop but no mouse(don't ask me why I didn't just buy one), which led me to re-learn drawing entirely by using the touchpad, uploading my traditional sketches through camera pictures to edit digitally. It went pretty well once I got the hang of it and soon it was no problem. The year in Florida gave me plenty of time and peace to explore various aspects of drawing and I did quite a bunch of various art, featuring both dinosaurs, Pokémon, Left 4 Dead, and eventually Portal fanart.
Veggiesaurus by Arvata Your Face by Arvata Roadrunners by Arvata

This followed me when I returned to Norway, at which time I was reintroduced to the graphics tablet that I had owned for a long time but had never gotten the hang of. KABOOM! Once the pen pressure was activated, a new world was opened to me. The feeling of making those smooth, beautiful lines was just... amazing, and I soon begun to sketch things out digitally as well instead of constantly having to scan my traditional works. Also around that time I was introduced to SAI, which I love. After that I've mostly been using my tablet and very much enjoyed it, spawning a lot more Portal, Pokémon and L4D with it, along with other occasional artwork since then, original and fanart alike.

I still don't feel I'm quite "there" yet, but I've definitely improved, and it makes me very happy to look back like this and realize that a lot of progress has been made. It's easy to forget sometimes. Throughout this time, wonderful, invaluable friendships have been made as well, I've met and become attached to people and they've been there for me through both good and bad. Art-wise they have given me a lot of support and advice, and without their motivation I surely wouldn't have been where I am now. I really have no words to describe how much they mean to me and certainly hope I've been as good to them <3 Thank you.

So yes, that's basically my story. Or timeline or whatever you call it. I would use another paragraph to mention all the awesome people I've met through here by name but YOU KNOW WHAT, I WON'T so instead have this utterly selfish summary about me. I hope it didn't waste your time *Flails* Main point is, I have a lot to thank DA for and I'm not leaving anytime soon. That's about it, see you around!

My precious Molle...

Journal Entry: Thu Aug 20, 2009, 10:46 AM
Gallery :pokeball:Add me :pokeball: Art Stats :pokeball: Note me :pokeball: commission :pokeball: FAQS

Right now, I am very very sad...
That's because yesterday...yesterday was a very tough day for me.
It was the day when my best friend, loyal companion and the most wonderful cat ever, left this world.
Molle, the proud and beautiful Norwegian Forest Cat, has finally given in to the last of her nine lives.

She has accompanied me through almost ten years of happiness and friendship, and she has always been by my side. The happy memories from my early childhood includes her in every picture, and she means so much to me. I love her so much that I would've done about anything to prevent this, and the pain streaming through me from her loss is so much greater than I ever imagined it to be. More than anything right now, I wish to hold her in my arms and hug her dearly like we have done several times before, telling her how much I love her. Even though I have affectionately said to her a hundred times how much she meant to me when she was alive, it still doesn't feel like it was enough.

To even attempt to write down my feelings and emotions for Molle is silly. I can't find words that strongly enough describe how much she has brightened my life though all these years, nor express how much I need her right now. At least she isn't in pain anymore. As much as I grieve, I am happy for her. Someday, I believe I will get to meet her again.
