I hadn't painted a dragon in a good while and I wanted to. This was going to just be a creature design sheet, but then I went overboard and made it a sort of hybrid illustration concept art piece. I tried for a oily pearlescence on the dragon, but I'm not sure if I pulled it off. I told you guys I'd update this dragon.

How many sketches did you do of this before you decided you had the right look?

You make the best approximations of an anatomically correct, 6-limbed (4 legs and 2 wings) dragon! Nobody ever does a second, robust set of pectoralis majoris; they often end up extrapolating the pectoralis minor for the function of wing beats. I feel like the pectoralis minor version, done by others, wouldn't be powerful enough to facilitate flight! Your version certainly does! Great work!!!

It indeed looks oily, in a very twisted way. Some kind of a venomous dragon?

I think you REALLY pulled off the oily look! Amazing work as always. I especially love the wings...they remind me of a thorn thicket.
