somebody brought a T-rex to a samurai fight, awesome!!
Light-Of-Subira Featured By Owner Mar 16, 2016  Hobbyist Digital Artist
I find this both amazing and hilarious. Contrary to the opposing samurai, if I saw someone come at me riding a t-rex and wielding a spear, i'd turn and run away lol.

It's just art, who cares about a minor inaccuracy? Besides there are theories for both sides
RaishinL Featured By Owner Apr 19, 2016  Hobbyist Artist
no, its 3 possible outcomes for one and NO evidence or theories for the other.
Are you always in such a bad mood?
ThePanguinator Featured By Owner Apr 6, 2016  Student Digital Artist
Ahhhh, don't come up with Trey. He is an annoying and smug know-it-all pseudo paleontologist. I think Palmer is way more competent and adult when it comes to stuff like this, seriously.
RaishinL Featured By Owner Apr 6, 2016  Hobbyist Artist
Wether that is true or not, it does not change the fact that he is correct.
ThePanguinator Featured By Owner Apr 7, 2016  Student Digital Artist
Well, maybe you could figure out that Katana Samurai did not actually fight against Yari-T-Rex-cavalry. The T-Rex was already extinct when the first Shogunate arose, you know. Maybe (just maybe) this artwork, made by an artist halfway obsessed with dinosaurs, is not the right place for nitpicking about inaccuracies. Especially when the artist knows signifficantly more about the matter than you do.

You just sont get how easily spreads and severe the desease is dont you?
TheGamingMaverick Featured By Owner Apr 13, 2016
T. Rex may have been feathered but we don't know whether or not they kept them into adulthood. Either way just appreciate the art.
RaishinL Featured By Owner Apr 14, 2016  Hobbyist Artist
Why would they ever have a reason to loose them in adulthood. That idea is based of off ostriches who lose some featheres when growing up. But you do realize that ostiches live in MUCH hotter environment and despite that they only lose feathers on their necks and legs. There exists NO known animal to day that completely looses all of it s covering when becoming adults. And T.rex had absolutely had NO reason to lose any of it. And if you are going to bring up the whole overheating thing:

1. Feathers reflect heat not absorb it, a study was conducted about it: An emu was active in mid-day running around in the sun while a kangaroo was lazing around in the shade because it is FUR that absorbs heat not feathers.
2. If you are going bring up the whole "too hot" thing and Yutyrannus lived in colder environments, how about do some research. The average temperature in the Hell Creek formation where Tyrannosaurus lived was absolutely no different from where Yutyrannus lived.
3. And even in the scenario that the previous two are untrue. It still does not matter as one crucial fact: Carnivores dont even generate heat  in the first place, so how will you counter that? Say tyrannosaurus was a herbivore?

And also in the absurdly impossible scenario that Tyrannosaurus DID loose every ssingle feather. How the hell will it grow reptillian scales where the feathers were. The only scaly part discovered in tyrannosaurs were their feat and tails and these arent even unusual places to have them as those were reticula (bird scales), the other covering we discovered of tyrannosaurs were a piece of skin in the rib area and a throat from Tarbosaurus, both were NOT scaly, it was bare skin like a plucked chicken. So how about  you Mesozoica fanboy go ahead and dont do desperate attempt at preserving the  the giant Hollywood monsters in your head and hide the real life animals  by editing the Wikipedia pages and instead just accept the truth mr. Donald Trump of Paleontology.

PS. Gigantothermia is not a word.
Wtf I just make a general, open-minded, un-biased comment and you shower me with hate for no reason? I never said it did not keep it's feathers until adulthood, also the skin impressions found on the tail and feet show scales (you can even see images online) on top of that no one has ever said that feathers turn into scales (that's just ridiculous) what I meant was that feathers grow in between the scales and then fall out by adulthood, the feathers found on Tyrannosaurs are quite different to the ones found on modern day birds, carnivorous don't generate heat? what have u been smoking?, also if you think I am trying to preserve some fantasy image of dinosaurs then you are mistaken, I only got interested in them back in 2007 which is well after feathered dinosaurs were established and even then I believed T. Rex may have had feathers. No difference in climate? Look online anywhere and you would see their is a clear difference, also what's so bad about loving Mesozoica? It's a game, with dinosaurs and to me anything that is those 2 things I instantly love, I like Saurian, PK, The Isle and even Ark. Also it was funny at first but now I'm confused WHAT THE HELL IS THIS WIKIPEDIA THING!?

PS. I never said Gigantothermia, it's Gigantothermy I believe

Ok I don't mean to criticise but the Tyrannosaurus Rex looks more like the Acrocanthosaurus from Primal Carnage Extinction than a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
TheBatmeme368 Featured By Owner Dec 23, 2017  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
...Excluding the large spines running down its back, no lips, the slight shrink wrapping and possibly the lack of feathers, this is an accurate Tyrannosaurus. Here are some skeletals made by Scott Hartman, a renowned palaeontologist:…

From one person's thoughts to the creator of this painting's works: I believe it is all down-hill from here, context-wise. Can you prove your statement wrong?
