Boy, it's been a while hasn't it? This is my first new piece for my Realistic Pokemon series in almost 4 years. A lot has happened since then, including working on Detective Pikachu, so I wanted to update the formula a smidge. I redesigned the trainer silhouette while trying to keep the general feel and attitude of the original. I also really wanted to try incorporating more environmental nods in these, to better give them a sense of place. That's enough of my babbling, here is some flavor text which I know you all are waiting for.
Grimmsnarl are one of Galar's most dangerous tricksters. This Pokemon may be relatively muscular in its own right, but its long strands of dense fur help bulk up its physical appearance. Thick with grease and oils, its fur is used to ensnare and immobilize its prey. There is a particular mystery in how Grimmsnarl reproduce as all observed members of the species are male. It has been proposed that Hatterene are in fact the females of the species but mating between the two has not yet been documented. Though it's not uncommon for Pokemon to have calls similar to the sound of their names, the call of the Grimmsnarl is somewhat unique. When aggravated a Grimmsnarl is known to belch what can only be described as "Get out me swamp!".
Morgrem are adolescent Grimmsnarl and have not yet developed the full-body armor fur of the adult. Though they lack a full coat they have a lengthy ponytail that serves them in subduing prey. Though diminutive in size Morgrem have been known to predate upon Ponyta in Glimwood Tangle.
Before the Grimmsnarl family became fully known to science, their infants, known as Impidimp, made regular appearances on trail cams set up in Glimwood Tangle. Utterly useless and horrendously ugly, dog Pokemon breeders have found them very adorable.
Sinistea are a Galar relative of the more well known Trevenant. Like their cousins, Sinistea, the juvenile, and Pouteageist, the adult, are unique cephalopod Pokemon with a terrestrial lifestyle. Sinistea are ceramic specialists and are commonly found near tea shops and cafes. Their habit of animating teaware is thought to be the source for many "haunted kitchen" myths.
Morelull are a common sight in densely wooded areas. Utilizing a unique relationship with bioluminescent mushrooms these arthropod Pokemon use their light source to draw in would be prey. Unlike the outwardly similar relationship of Paras and it's fungi, these mushrooms will not harm the Pokemon as it develops.
Originating in the Kalos region Spritzee were recently introduced into the Galar region. These small, smelly Pokemon are drawn to the purfumed sachets popular among upper class trainers, even sometimes snatching them for themselves. Their fairy typing feeds their aggressive attitude and really empowers the little shits.
