Aquatic Dragon Concept

Though it is a true dragon, it does not have a strong resemblance to its kind. They are known for swimming up rivers to get at animals that come to drink. They lay their eggs on land every two to three years. They have evolved a long neck to pull riverside prey into the water as well as catching crustaceans in deep crevasses.

I'd critique this very well if I could, but being aquatic, it'd been more adapted if it were built like an eel, or a snake. With a tail like a tadpoles or something and smaller wings for better propulsion through water.

I must say this, your work has done far more than impress me, but inspired me, your grasp on creature design has blown my mind and I look forward to seeing far more from your amazing collection.

A very interesting take on an aquatic dragon, most people just make a blue dragon or give it flippers, this on the other hand really looks like something that might have evolved in the water. Very nice work :)

Hm. Critique critique critique. Um… I've really got nothing. This is an interesting fantasy world take on the Plesiosaur-type creature, and you did a good job. My only thought would be to make it a little bit more colorful, but given its large size the shades of brown work for camouflage whenever it has to come ashore. I don't see gills, so I presume this is still an airbreather? And what are the wings used for, attitude control in water? I mean, I know they're streamlined/slightly vestigial.

Also, creepy cool fishman there.

All your creatures are awesome. For this, I hate you.

That said, maybe you could define the planes more on this one? It looks a little flatter than your others. I understand you didn't spend forever on it, just a suggestion.

Oh and what's your status with AAU? I left for good, you're on a break?

Yeah i wanted this one a little smoother, but maybe i left out too much plane definition. As far as AAU, i took both the spring and the summer off to pursue personal projects. Im going back in the fall, getting some way awesome classes like heads n hands. I still havent even had color and design though....

Well in your time off you've definitely improved. You should check for some internships before the semester starts, they're really easy to get around here (I know some people who suck but got internships) and can help even more than school. I know a lot of people wanna get better at drawing before they apply for an internship, but there's no better time than now. The point is not to be good enough to work there in the beginning, that's why it's an internship! Just a thought. As far as AAU, try to get Zimou Tan for Heads and Hands, and hold off on C&D as long as possible (a little bird told me it's being phased out).

Yeah definitely was an influence. I looked as plesiosaurs, t-rexes, leatherback turtles, crocodiles, dolphins, and lizards.

I want this as my trusty underwater steed.

And I want to battle giant squid while on it.
