I just read my last journal entry on here. What a laugh!
I'm still installing surveillance. I have gained more experience and skill, and due to people leaving the company I went to only having my manager and the owner of the company as the two people higher than me. I went from making $500/ 50-60 hours to $775/45 hours. I went from barely being able to sign into a wireless access point to designing networks. From being just another set of hands to being part of the backbone has been encouraging and extremely humbling. I can't express how much on the job training has helped me.
As for my art, I've really only seen major activity just this past year. I was featured in a local gallery for a month and had other pieces stay in there for almost a year for sale. My photography went over very well (sold all 5 pieces), and the paintings were a huge hit (sold 2 out of 6).
I have worked on multiple commissions for family, friends, and one donation to a charity fundraiser. I was worried I would never have time to paint, and though I still wish I had more time, I am amazed that the job I thought would stifle me has actually opened quite a few opportunities for my art. I have traveled a ton and taken my camera with me. Just this past Christmas I got a new camera too!
I say all this to claim my return to deviantART...at least till I get distracted from posting due to icanhascheezburger.com.
It's nice to be back.
