The surrealistic aura of this piece is quite reminiscent of my time in Italy. The museums were always full of this sort of work, obviously with colors that would attract the eyes; reddish hues contrasting on emerald greens and such. This looks like it belongs in ones of those museums. It continues to catch the interest of the audience with its intricacies, prolonging its expression. Very nice, indeed. Was this made with a pencil and shading tools?

its charcoal, charcoal wash, blending stumps and erasers (various types, from kneaded to pencil and electric erasers). Also used sandpaper in some spots.

Very interesting indeed. I've tried my hand at charcoal, but didn't find it too fitting for me. Granted, this is coming from an artistic welder who has done ceramics as well for years.

Never saw anything done just this way.  Very effective!
