Wonder Woman 1 Pencils by ArtofLaurieB Wonder Woman 1 Pencils by ArtofLaurieB
This is one of the first times I drew Wonder Woman, she's such a great character! After this one, I did a few other Wonder Womans (or women?), but they had a much more cartoony feel to them. She's always got a great dynamic to her, and she's really flexible with how you can depict her.

This was part of my Pure Heroine sketchbook #1!

Hope you like!

Love your style! Nice to see someone who can use a pencil for a change,
instead of photoshop & a wacom pad!

Love how you captured the motion of her hair <333
Your light source seems to be hitting the right angles.
A classic Wonder Woman in action. Fantastic job! ^^

wow this sketch is amazing! I love her interesting pose and the shinyness in her hair. The wispiness in her hair makes her look like she is really flying in mid-air. ^^

I like it! What was she drawn with (color pencils, etc)?

I used some metallic colored mechanical pencils actually, but that doesn't really show up in the scan. The original had a bit of a shiny sheen to it.

Do you find it easier to draw the "old fashioned" way than with a tablet? I can't get used to drawing right on the computer.

I totally draw the old fashioned way. I have a tablet for photoshop stuff (which I rarely do), and I haven't really played around with a Cintiq. I just think that there's something special about putting actual pencil to paper. I've had a bunch of people see my portfolio (at a convention) and ask what I use (sometimes as they're flipping through the original art binder).

When I say it's just pencil crayons, they seemed really surprised. I think a lot of that has to do with so many people gravitating to using computers now!

I agree about there being something special, when that pencil hits the paper. Aside from the texture, I lose some of the spontaneity when I try to go straight for the Wacom.

Anyway, very nice work!

As much as I'd love a Wacom, I really get the sense that people look at you a bit differently when it's actually pencil to paper (in a good way).

Thanks!

She's cute! She has such an elegant and regal pose, yet she retains her looseness and action. I can't wait to see more of your Pure Heroines!
