I understand that. I've just moved to Portland and trying to figure out the whole gallery scene. Part of me wonders if its just knowing someone. I'm still not sure. Though I've only been here 5 days.

We'll see what happens! Please let me know how you do it and any tips are appreciated!

Love to see a show if it ends up in the Portland, OR area.

portland is somewhat close to me, so i do hope to have a show there. i think getting in is pretty hard, and for the most part you do sort of have to know people. i think networking is the key, on here, on myspace, on talent database, etc. i got my chicago show through a curator i met on myspace. and the curator of the show in minneapolis found me on here. in addition to that though, i just try to get out there in as many venues and online galleries as possible, and im always looking for contests that might give me more exposure. i know for sure that it isnt easy, and it will probably take me a long time to really get going. best of luck to you, to me, and to all of us. :)

Same things I've found.

Away we go! Networking just seems to be a great way to do things.

Good luck! And perhaps we could do a group show if you are around my area. :)

I, for one, think that your art is fantastic the way it is now. I'm surprised you're not getting any books in galleries! I know of a gallery that I'm sure would love your art! The gallery is located in Carpinteria, California. Here it is...CVAC. Phone number: (805) 684-7789. Website: [link]
