Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep

The Hardest Part Is Letting Go

lemmonade42 brought a wonderful charity to our attention, and it needs the help of photographers around the world.

Ok, if you have not heard of it  Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep  is an amazing  WORLD WIDE program. This is an opportunity for YOU as a photographer to help people in a really hard but amazing time in their lives. When parents have a baby that they will never get to take home from the hospital it is a very hard time for them. They literally have to savor each second of that infant's life because there are only so many seconds in their lives. Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep is a program where photographers volunteer to go to the hospital and do a newborn session with these babies and parents that have so little time. You are giving these parents a taste of what life would be like if they could take this baby out to a photographer and then to their homes. These babies never make it home, so these parents need these treasured memories in their lives to help them move on and remember how precious those moments were. If you are interested please go to their website: www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org and watch their recruiting video. If you still do not feel like you can participate fine, but this is an amazing opportunity to give back to your community and to help those who really need you.

In further news

The people behind aFc would like to apologise for the lack of updates recently. The real world has a firm grip on our time, and we're not being able to manage the account as actively as we would like to.
In the next few months we are hoping that this will change though, so please remain patient.
If you have donated, and it hasn't been uploaded yet, do not be alarmed. It is in the queue and we will upload it.

If you have any questions, please check the FAQ for your answer before noting us.

Once again thank you everyone for your amazing donations and support.

This is a great idea. I know firsthand what it is like to lose a child. We lost a child to SIDS many years ago now. Hmm seems like only yesterday. Amazing how things stay fresh in your mind...even if you do want them too. I would totally go for this but I am not a good photographer and my babysitter is out of town for 3 weeks. Too bad it is such a good cause and I love seeing new babies. :D

I meant that the baby will die. They cannot leave the hospital because they are terminally ill.

Or if the baby is premature or just born with a life endangering defect that means it would die unless in the care of the hospital, and death is inevitable anyway very early on in its life

As in, the baby passes before it is released or is stillborn.
