Rouveri's Mustang Makeover 2022 -Closed-
Hello and welcome to the Rouveri Mustang Makeover! Compete to be the best mustang makeover Champion, turning a wild horse into a companion to be cherished. Your trainers will be given several months with their new horse to transform then show it off at the display event. With big money up for grabs as well as a handful of other wonderful prizes, now is the perfect time to dust off those horses and get them workin'. Deadline: November 10thRules-All art must be done by you.-The same Horse and trainer must be used for all pieces. -3 Entry prices are needed to score full points.-You can enter multiple pairs. -All Pics must have a background.-No premade lineart’s-Tracing is allowed, but must be credited. -All literature entries must be at least 1000 words. Getting a mustangAll mustangs must be fresh from the wild and unhandled. So horses with training and show images will not be able to be entered. Alternatively, you may enter an untrained horse into the Green horse Class (these horses can’t have competition, or under saddle pics). Rescue adoptions- Rescue a horse from the Rouveri Rescues. The first Rouveri is free, but the rest are cheap. Claiming a Random- To get a random Rouveri free of charge, you can claim one from the comments below. The horse must be used in the competition though and will be reclaimed by the Rouveri Group should it not be used. You can keep the horse after the competition, sell it back to the group, or put it up for auction.Get your own mustang- Make your own mustang or buy a horse from the countless horse adoptables on DA.Use your unused horse- Use any horse who is yet to be trained. The horse does not have to be a mustang, or any wild horse. It can be thoroughbred, warmblood or anything else you want. The horse must be untrained and have little to no training. Alternatively the horse may be a horse rescued from abuse. No art, or very littleHow to Enter 3 Pieces are mandatory for this event, with the pieces being either Literature or Art based. You can choose what parts to write/draw about. There are prompts below to help you get some inspiration, but you can do anything you like. You can do all Art, or all Literature or a mixture. You must complete at least one training image, and at least one display class. The third is up to you. You can complete more pieces if desired.Art Pieces-Fullbody horse. -Background-Minimum 100 words. Literature Pieces-1000 words minimum. -Judges can choose to stop at 2000 words. For example, any horse who hasn’t been trained under saddle should not be entered into the ridden displays. ,Weather: The morning starts frosty, with a little fog that clears midmorning to a sunny day with a light scattering of cloud. By late afternoon however storm clouds with gather. Rain will fall shortly after the auction.Event TimetableOpening Ceremony 8am-8:30, Arena 1All horses will be led around the arena, going from walk, trot and canter. They will halt in front of the judges to be visually assessed. They will then be led out of the arena at a trot. Liberty Display 9am-12pm, Arena 1Handler will lead the horse through a set course of obstacles, featuring, but not limited to standing, laying, rein backs, free jumping and anything else the handler has taught. Free Jumping11am-12:30pm, Arena 2Handler will take the horse over several obstacles of increasing height (Max of 1.2 meters.) Horses can attempt a height 3 times, though the handler may withdraw the horse at any time.Undersaddle Display 12pm-2pm, Arena 1Horse and rider will display their riding knowledge. Usually includes walk, trot, canter, turning and rein backs if confident to do so. This may include simple dressage moves. Small jumps are also available (max 0.6 meters).Bareback Riding 2:00pm-3:30pm, Arena 2While bareback, the rider will display the horse's understanding of ridden cues. Riders will be asked to demonstrate walk, trot, canter, turning and rein backs if comfortable to do so. Small jumps are also set up to the side should a rider like to demonstrate bareback jumping.Trail workshop. 2:30-3:45, Arena 1This display features several obstacles for the horse to navigate including gates to open, bridge crossing, tire standing and a host of other tasks for the pair to try. The horse may be ridden, led or led in liberty style.Award Ceremony4pm-4:30pm, Arena 1The closing ceremony will see scores announced and prizes give. The winning horses will then be paraded around the arena. (This is not enterable)Mustang Auction5pm-5:30pm, Arena 1Any horse who has completed the Mustang Makeover event can be turned in for the auction. All money will be donated to saving mustangs from slaughter, and ensuring they are rehomed.
