The Boyfriend's Birthday Cake by artisticrainey The Boyfriend's Birthday Cake by artisticrainey
I made this cake for my boyfriend for his birthday a few days ago. It took such a long time to ice! It's hardly a professional job and it gave me a lot of newfound respect for people who do this for a living! The next one I do will be better :)

Nicely done! Out of curiosity - did you use things like fondant? I ask because I've been wanting to try cake decorating with things like that one day. ...that and modeling chocolate and marzipan. -chuckles- Practice makes perfect - I thought you did a spiffy job!

Thanks! I used ready to roll fondant. You can get it in loads of different colours and it's really good for modelling. You need loads of space to roll it out for covering the cake, which was a problem I faced in my mum's tiny kitchen >_<

Lol. That's like my kitchen here. Not enough counter space. @_@
