Wes Talley, a communication artist, has been drawing ever since he could pick up a pencil. He fondly remembers sitting at his grandmother's table, creating works of art, while in his high school years he'd spend hours doodling in the margins of his workbooks and binders. A native of Northern Illinois, Wes Talley was educated for most of his younger life at home by his mother. As a late teenager he moved with his family to central Minnesota. While there, he briefly studied sculpture at a workshop in Winona. When the time came to go to college, Wes knew he wanted to do something artistic with his life, so the Communication Art & Design program at Alexandria Technical College seemed a natural choice. There he refined his abilities while acquiring new skills in other mediums, both traditional and digital. He received five silver and one gold ABBY awards for his student work. Upon receiving his Associates of the Applied Sciences degree after graduating the five-semester course in 2006, he obtained a position as a graphic designer at Lakes Area Graphix & Signworx in Kensington. During this time, he also created layouts and cover designs for books on the side as a freelancer. He soon left the company to pursue greater ventures, but continued his online business as a freelancer. In 2009, he relocated to Quito, Ecuador, where he eventually married a woman who shared in many of his personal tastes, as well as providing him with much inspiration. In 2011 he took a Teaching English as a Foreign Language course at the National Polytechnic School where he received a triple certification as an English teacher. Wes currently resides with his wife and three children in Quito where he is employed by a multimillion dollar international company.
