A quick drawing of Jared Leto from 30STM's newest music video "Do or Die". Love that video, even though (or probably because) it's very similar to "Closer to the Edge", but that's just a really splendiferous music video, what can I say.
As for this drawing; I'm very happy with the result, and I'm quite surprised that I was able to finish it this quickly. Except for the border and a rough sketch, it was all done in one afternoon. I like these kind of drawings.
Time: 4-5 hours (yes, that's what I call a "quick" drawing)
Size: 21.8cm x 12.3cm on A4-sized paper
Materials:
Smooth black paper for presentation / chalk illustration from CANSON 0,5mm HB mechanical pencil White, yellow, berry, light and dark blue coloured pencils Normal (black) and kneadable eraser (tip: when drawing on black paper, using a black eraser won't bleach the paper)Title: "When the Angels Scream" is from the song "Do or Die" by 30STM.
Reference: I took a screen shot directly from the video "Do or Die" by 30STM because I couldn't find this exact picture I was looking for on the internet.

It's quite detailed for a quick drawing 
But I get it, I call my white-on-black drawings done in 4-5 hours "quickies" as well.
Anyway, you wrote about all that energy you had, all the willingness to draw which resulted in the blue painting of Jared. I can see it clearly here! I don't mean that that painting of Jared was bad [not at all!], but it evoked calmness, peace, whereas this one bursts with the energy you mentioned 
Love the details of the face and the usage of different colours, not only white. It gives completely other feeling, which I truly adore in this work! good job!

Um Himmels willen, das neue Video ist ganz an mir vorbeigegangen...! Das Motiv hast du wirklich sehr gut ausgesucht und umgesetzt. Schwarzes Papier habe ich hier rumliegen, aber mich bis jetzt nicht rangetraut. Der Tipp mit dem schwarzem Radiergummi kommt mir da sehr gelegen 
Vielen Dank, freut mich natürlich sehr zu hören, dass es dir gefällt. Auf schwarzem Papier zu zeichnen hat seine Tücken (anstatt Schatten zu zeichnen, zeichnest du die lichtbestrahlten Stellen), aber es ist wirklich eine coole Erfahrung, macht viel Spass und der Effekt ist toll, von dem her kann ich es dir sehr empfehlen.
Great work! I love your musicians drawings on black paper, as well as your drawings on black paper in general, they're one of the best. For some reason "100 Suns" still remains one of my fav works of yours, draws my attention. Maybe it's the combination of colors, something, who knows.

! "100 Suns" is also one of my personal favourites, mostly because of the intimate atmosphere of the concert. I hadn't thought much when I chose that reference picture, but in retrospect it was a good choice because of so many things.

It's beautiful - and aha, you DID finish it! I really like that you added the colours to it; it gives it more life, in deed. I'm especially fascinated by the blurry brown/yellow-ish part of his hair (it's so UNLIKE you, for some reason), and his hand. I love that hand, and the way you've coloured it. I don't know how to explain it more than that, though. There's something about the outer blue part of the highlights of his hand that I really like. Beautiful. (But quick?! ... yeah, we have different meanings of the word "quick", I guess)

) Too bad the colours weren't scanned the way they are in reality. They're more intense, but even with PS I wasn't able to bring them out more. Anyway, happy to hear you like it !
