Santorini at peace

It seems so long ago (twelve years or so) since I took this shot of part of the the remains of the caldera of Santorini which was destroyed during the eruption around 1620 BC and is thought to have brought down the Minoan civilisation in the eastern Mediterranean - maybe a tsunami,  certainly ash clouds that will have blocked out the sun for years and caused crops to fail and famine to starve humans as well as other forms of life... It was very calm and pleasantly warm when we were there - not a steaming vent or shock wave to be experienced...
