I thought I give this meme a try. As the meme stated, these are characters that everyone likes, but I don't. For whatever reason, there's just something about them that I just didn't really find interesting. As well as hate about.
Note: I was goint to put Sentinel Prime on the list, but by now, most of you know why I hate the character. But if you do want to know why I hate him, here is link of My Top 10 Most Hated Characters. Don't get me wrong, I still don't like the character.
Here are my picks:
#10 Saitama (One-Punch Man)
In addition to an uninteresting anime, the main character is kind of bland. To his credit he's powerful, but I just didn't really care watching him simply kill someone with a single punch. He's low on the list because I don't really hate him, but he's just "meh" to me.
#9 Saya Takagi (Highschool of the Dead)
To be honest, Saya had a bad start and somewhat got worst as the series went on. The problem I have with her is that she brags about herself, mainly her intelligents, and treats everyone like dirt. She does get better later on, but at that point, I didn't really care about her. She's just not the same level as Rei and Saeko (And I'm not saying that because of their "appearance").
#8 Anna Nishikinomiya (Shimoneta: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist)
Okay. To be fair, Anna started fine. However after being accidentally kissed by Tanukichi, she becomes obsessive. While the obsessive part is not the reason why I hate her (kind of is though), it's her attempts to "make love" with Tanukichi that I just found irritating. Everytime I see them, it just makes want to look away and say, "O kay then".
#7 The Punisher (Marvel)
In general, I like most Marvel characters. Sadly, the Punisher is not one of them. I get his reasons but still. It also doesn't help the fact on how he was in Spider-Man: The Animated Series in which he was just a nuisance to me. You might even say he's the equivalent of the human A-holes from the Transformers films and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (though he's not that bad). Even now, I still don't care for the character.
Note: Ironically, during the events of Civil War (comics), Punisher saved Spider-Man from Jack O'Lantern and the Jester.
#6 Anzu Kadotani & Momo Kawashima (Girls und Panzer)
These girls were infuriating to episode 9. Not only did they force Miho to join Tankery but they also pretty much said, "You better win this or else". What boggles me is that they felt more of an antagonist than main heroines sister. To make matters worst, when they reveal why they need to win in Tankery, it just leaves me saying, "Then why threaten and act harsh to Miho at all?" It's just dumb. Even after episode 9, I still can't stand these girls.
#5 Mechagodzilla (Anime)
Other than a brief appearance, I was kind of looking forward to seeing Mechagodzilla in anime. However after seeing the sequal, it should be no surprise that I was disappointed. While it wasn't the design that bothered me (though not the best incarnation of Mechagodzilla), it was how it was presented that was bad. Rather than a badass robot, it was just a big city with AI and it doesn't help that fact that he doesn't fight Godzilla. Think Godzilla vs. Trypticon (Transformers), but Trypticon never transformed to his T-Rex mode and stayed in his city mode. It's just a case of what it could've have been.
#4 Light Yagami (Death Note)
Despite being a well-known character in anime, I didn't really care about him and while I get his actions, he's desire to become God didn't work for me. Also soon after L's death, Light just got overpowering to me and was getting a little annoying. Though when Light was caught, it not only put a smile on my face, but also left me saying (in the words of James Bulger from the movie, Black Mass), "(laughing) Look at his face."
#3 Haruo Sakaki (Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters)
Wanting revenge on Godzilla, Haruo was a red flag to me. I get that he goes after Godzilla for the death of his parents and wanting to reclaim Earth, but his methods were for himself and just got worst in the second film. Case of point, even when Haruo learned about the dangers of the Nanometal, he still agreed to use just to kill Godzilla. His actions almost remind me of Gyozen from Godzilla: Unleashed. To me, he's just an overall unlikeable character.
Note: Base on his actions in the sequal, in the words of Unberto Mori, "Sakaki, this time it's too much . . .".
#2 Homura Akemi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)
I did not like this girl from the beginning of the anime. To be fair, her reasons were explain in episode 10, but at the same time, it left me saying, "Really?". Not only that but, other than prevetning Madoka from becoming a magical girl, Homura didn't really do anything despite having the power of Time. Case of point, rather than figuring out how to defeat Walpurgisnacht, she just use her powers to start over (though even when she defeat Walpurgisnacht, she risk becoming a Witch herself). Regardless, I still don't like the character and she made me mad in the 3rd movie.
#1 Laxus Dreyar (Fairy Tail)
(facepalm) Oh my God. He was a complete A-hole to begin with but he enrage me during the Battle of Fairy Tail arc (or as I like to call it, "The Laxus Saga"). Mainly because both Laxus and the arc is animes answer to Sentinal Prime and Transformers 3. To me, that left me infuriated. During the arc, Laxus pretty much said, "I going to take Fairy Tail by force. Have the members fight each other and I'm not going to give a s*** about it". Also, he didn't care when he heard that his grandfather was "dying". What a heartless bastard. Even though he redeemed himself, the damaged was already done. Even now, I still hate him and, to me, he's animes equivalent to Sentinal Prime (TF3).
If you actully like any of these characters, that's fine. This is just my opinion.
These characters ane meme belong to their righful owners.
