Literature Text

where beauty bows before the dark
I shuffle slowly, lest to make a noise
that could wake the demons
hidden there
in a corner of my mind.

in this picture we embark
the river Styx - we have no choice
but play along and play the game
with the devil's advocate.

and the pictures which we once shot
(a lot has happened since)
forgotten they remain a shelter then
for memories, tears, and toil.

the times have changed,
and so have we -
in forms I never thought could be.

and with all that has been said and done
I know now what truth there lies
before me still:
tears mean nothing; water dries
before the blazing sun.

the perfume which once you wore so bold;
I quiver now, I spit, am sick;
it does not fit you any longer,
and estranged we live apart.

Great job. Some fantastic imagery you got here, and you definitely captured the theme of alienation, and of change. I'm still not keen, and this is my personal preference of course, on lower case throughout the entire poem, but that's just me. ^^; I'm not sure of this line though, "the perfume which you once worse so bold" as it doesn't make any sense to me. I read it as "the perfume which you once wore so bold" so I assume it was merely a spelling error. :nod: Anyways, a marvellous poem. Well done! :clap:
