I went to my first con with my family over the past weekend. What fun! I knew I'd enjoy it but it always seemed like something came up to prevent our attending. We got to meet Todd Haberkorn, which was pretty nifty, and I got a signed t-shirt. I'm torn between wanting to wear my cool new shirt and wanting to frame it. I'm leaning towards framing right now. The reason we were able to attend this con was because JDKittlesPhotography was going to be on a panel discussing storm chasing and storm photography. He was joined by one of his weather friends who spoke more about the technical parts of storm spotting and chasing. While we were sitting at our table at the con, there were many dead minutes in which we were kind of twiddling our thumbs and looking for something to do. This is particularly tough on our youngest who is an active soul. So I came up with the idea of dueling doodles. We took turns using felt tip pens to draw black lines on a piece of paper. Then we each chose a different colored felt tip pen and started filling in the spaces. It was a ton of fun and any earnings received from the sales of this piece will be split evenly with her. I'm so happy we did it! We ended up with a nifty, whimsical piece of art, I believe!
