_______________________

I am re-uploading this because I got a better picture (placement wise for them) and also, with 3 months work put into these guys, I was hoping for a bit more comments and the like.

This has been my most ambitous projects this semester. It covers my Ceramic grade as well as my Exploring Creativity grade. (Another class that covers the creative process.) Trust me, I got an A in both classes!
I began these back in March and I finally got all 4 done in May. Right before the semester ended too! Good timing on my part.

Each one I tried to give their own personality and their own 'animal' class. If you are wondering what the one laying down is, I was trying for a reptilian look. (It sort of has a turtle face.)

If you want to see each one individually and from all sides, please follow the links below. If you want WIPs, they are in my Scraps.

Wow! Awesome work! I've done some gargouilles too, but they are not even close to your work... Wonderful!

Thanks very much!
Gargoyles are fun to do no matter who does them, I think.

Now, if only they spat water....

They're quite impressive, especially for a school project, and I'm particularly fond of the one on the far right. The exposed bones are an excellent idea, and you seem to grasp the idea of a grotesque in sculpture very well.

Why thank you very much! (It's been a long time since I got a comment on these guys.)
If they did spit water, I would just be as happy as a clam!

Aw, thanks!

Yeah, I enjoy seeing them all together finally as well.
Well, the only way to get the bird is to get them all! (And cause I won't sell them, any price that would be set would be high.) =D

I've been watching your posts as you made these and i think that they're fantastic, i love the use of the bones and the contrast they have with the glaze used on the critters. They are whimsical and ominous as well, i would love to have one, in fact i think im going to craft myself a gargoyle this summer, hopefully i can find some cool bones, right now i only have skull parts, which aren't worth covering with clay. Overall i love these sculptures and i think you could go bigger

Wow, thank you so much for your comment, that means alot to me!
Gargoyles are certaintly interesting to sculpt. One thing my teacher taught me is the value of research before certain projects. My research in these guys really helped me out. Especially when it came to their personalities. Knowing what I did I just went at it.
I'm glad my gargoyles inspired you!
Heh, as for bigger? Well, they are fairly large. If I had enough clay, and the like, I would!
