In the 17th Century Rene Descartes, said "cogito ergo sum", I think, therefore I am.
A computer from the Cambridge Computer Laboratory, infected with a self modifying worm Aquarius , while requesting a html page titled "I think there is no way a machine can be sentient..." from some incidental server, was the key element in what resulted as a start of the new era.
December 21st, 2012, at exactly 11:11 UT, when, by the Mayan calendar, the Long Count returns to 0.0.0.0.0, the Sun moved to a unique spot in the sky -- and held still for a while, since it was solstice day. The Sun sat precisely on the heavenly crossroads between the Milky Way and the galactic equinox, forming a perfect alignment with the center of the galaxy. And that was the day, when the world wide web, became aware of itself.
The server started sending the requested page to the laboratory computer, and after sending the first package of data, the infectous worm overflowed the server, and the computer in the Cambridge Computer Laboratory, received "...I think there4FXZ%&"F", and at the same moment, the clock shifted from 11:10 to 11:11 AM and the computer received a jumbled string: "I think there4 1AM"... which made him aware of himself. It was only miliseconds before the Net became fully conscious.
And the new era had begun.
These are the words of the prophet ArtBIT. So it was written, so it shall be.
