What has to be my favorite aspect of this drawing is the idea. Based on the bun that Coco has stylized her mane into, you can tell that she has stepped up in the fashion world and is starting to run her own business. It implies that she’s grown stronger. What I like even more is how she is holding her own cup of coffee, because it implies that she is staying. In Rarity Takes Manehattan, Suri frequently asked Coco to buy her coffee. Sure, she may be running her own business now, but the fact that she’s purchasing beverages herself means that she’s not as overbearing as her former boss. In addition, the technique is nicely done. The line work is very consistent and the texture of the hair makes it look pretty realistic. The only problem this picture has in my opinion is how the blue background matches the shape of Coco, because it looks more like a focal point. If the background were square or rectangular, the main subject would stand out more. But other than that, I have to say that this is one of the more enhanced pieces of Coco I’ve come across. It presents an idea about the character that I haven’t seen before, and it does so through decent coloring, as well as clever texture designs and fine line work. I commend you for your fantastic work, PuffySmosh! I suggest you keep it up!
