Materials used: 4B and mechanical pencil, kneaded eraser, and blending stick on 8X10 vellum paper. Colored and finished up on photoshop.

Approx 6 hours.

Cheers for posting this mate. It's always very interesting to see how an artist works through to the final piece. How did you darken the piece for the second stage? Was it inked or do you continue working on tonal values in pencil?

Thnx. After I got the drawing where I could render no more, I photographed it and adjusted the levels and curves in photoshop.

Ah I see. Now that makes sense. It's a surprisingly effective way to give that contrast. I often do that with photographs but had never thought to try with traditional works. Cheers mate :)
