It just gets better! Another fantastic piece, your work is of the kind of quality and style that I'm trying to achieve, so it's really inspiring

This is one of my favorite pieces. It sold three years ago and the gallery never shared who bought it with me.

Never give up. Even the old masters were amateurs once.

Thank you so very much for your kind words. I'm sorry I haven't been on this hub in a very long time and missed your comment. Thank you so very much.

I just uploaded another bunch yesterday including my Barnabas Collins Portrait.

Thats is most amazing painting i ever seen on DA. most of traditional artists make modern arts,
but this one,
it's truly amazing, the lightings, the feelings and.. it shows an amazing story! full of emotions! the sirens looks very dangerous, and evil, odysseus's anatomy is really great, you did a very good job painting his legs and chest!
it reminds me of the baroque paintings, Drama, feelings , story and high colours contrast..
the sky is really amazing
im stunned..
congrats, i appreciate your art :bows:
and what a shame?! 9 comments, 22 favourites..

How do you find working on Oak?

It isn't as good as working on birch. Sometimes the grain can be a bit rough so you have to put a lot of layers of gesso with a trowel. As far as a sturdy surface you can't beat oak for not warping though. All about finesse I suppose.
