not be a bavarian nationalist that never shows wurttembergian/swabian/allemanic cities on the map, stuttgart?
country names could be huge, R U S S L A N D could be a long bowing line from finland to caucassus, germany from strassbourg to memel, austro-hungary could also use huge names, they can be over anything, what is most important is the fact that it's transparent enough to have other things below it like city names visible, and not transparent enough that you can see it. currently if i stare to the map's tiny preview i see no countries, i dont understand what is that massive latvian empire and czechoslovakia is also huge, while poland has conquered all they planned to.
also i dont understand names like Belgium, you put the first half of the word on east side and only Bel. fits, if you rotate it to belgium's angle and start from flanders and end at opposite side, you will clearly fit Belgium. also for microstates don't try to add things as Lie or Andorra they always go out of the borders, try to reuse the city name as country name, like by underlining capitals and making liechtenstein underlined as capital, making reader think that it must be somewhat a country if its capital of something, also as the borders are clearly red-obvious lines, the islands are hard to tell apart, i wouldn't think that cyprus and malta are british if i wouldn't know. also island names should be written like river names are, along a shoreline in a straight or bowed line, instead of somewhere aside horizontally, example Zypern (Brit.) bowing above the almost flat northern coastline., also you could try showing how the city looks by making black sideoutlined with somewhat red built up area visible. i think berlin was 3rd largest city and now is 70something, so it would make that city look good at least. also you can make weak lines for national provinces, and group provinces, like Preussen with a hardly visible line in middle (splitting west and east) etc, but this is optional. since the map is physical not political, would be good to have more names of bays or even add hardly visible mountain line names, which you wouldnt see on small version, but visible when you look closely. also write the important names (country names) in full capslock, it says look me, im important
(look at ur own)
old pre ww1 german maps
rivers by pixels
simplifications? f### no
islands hand detailed, instead of using some pre-given limiting lines
cartography advancement = -1
on a serious note i never see such details on modern maps, no one dares to spend so much time on making one amazing map, instead they spam 1000 maps in few days each
on purpose, too many details make it chaotic^^ It needs a clear overview.
Because it seems like they didn´t exist before 1914. And ofc the damned Flevoland.
Ein anblick der "Vertrauter" kaum sein könnte. Gute Arbeit!
Es lohnt sich wirklich sie zu Watch`n:
But I already made a few maps for The Great War, it´s a big youtube series.
I have to do more for them soon.
Something seems wrong with your picture download. I sent you a note with the details.
Sorry, maybe I've indicated too many mistakes... XD I hope you are not going to get angry... XD
