Description
Once she gained entry to the mysteriously abandoned station, she started to search for any clues as to what happened.
------------
Created in DAZ Studio 4.11, postwork in Topaz Studio.
Once again I tried a new two-stage technique (born as a response to lighting difficulties within a cramped corridor scene).
First, I did an initial render of the corridor environment to HDRI. For good instructions on how to do this with a spherical camera, see the post entry by elbiggus here (a little ways down from top): www.daz3d.com/forums/discussio…
Second I created a new scene using the HDRI lighting/background and then added the figure(s).
I may be fooling myself, but here are the advantages I think I'm finding:
- I can more easily/quickly light the figure as desired without running into spotlights behind walls, etc.
- my system is a lot more responsive in the figure posing phase
- the final render times seem a lot faster.
There are trade-offs of course, here's some initial ones that come to mind:
- any reflections or lighting onto the environment from the figures are lost;
- strong depth-related atmosphere effects may not work correctly.
In some scenes (like this one) I think the trade offs may be worth it.
