Nice shot! I was wanting to join the air force or army as a combat photographer. Just wondering what kind of equipment do they supply you with?

Well I was british Army and we use Nikon exclusively: currently the D3 cameras are being phased out for the new D4 bodies...

As far as I know, both USAF and Army use Nikon equipment while USN and USMC use Canon (but 'pro-sumer' bodies, not the top-end stuff - USMC in particular seemed very poorly-equipped, with combat photographers only being issued one camera and lens).

The Army Public Affairs photographers do (or did when I knew them) a 12 month stills, video and writing course, which sounds good, but sadly wasn't very good as we were having to re-train them on basic image prep and camera-handling when I worked with them in Basrah, Iraq.
I would strongly suggest you invest additional time in your prospective enlistment: serve at least three to five years in another MOS then re-trade to Public Affairs - this will give you a better grounding in the military way of life.

I served 15 years as an Infantry SNCO before transferring to the Photographic branch and every day I served in Bosnia, Iraq or Afghanistan I was bloody grateful of that...

you're a bit stupid really aren't you - any particular reason those images are all Israeli servicemen and women - are you a Nazi or something?

You obviously cannot differentiate soldiers and kids playing-up for the cameras and real soldiering in conflict areas...

FIGHT THROUGH WHAT?............................................................................................................................................................................................

"Fight through" is a military term meaning to advance under contact to a pre-determined stop-line.

The troops in these images were under sparadic small-arms and RPG fire throughout the three days of this operation...

I'm sorry I thought it was a serious question... as to the pain and suffering - ask the families of all those who died in New York and Washington on 9-11 why the US is involved in Afghanistan.

I think you'll find the 'non-existent' enemy is very real - I was there and they were real bullets being fired at us - not imaginary ones.
Ask the families of the six British soldiers who died last week in Afghanistan if the enemy is non-existent.

this was an inside job!
many interests wants US on Afghanistan
i feel the pain of all the people but my mind is clear to see the real reason to all these!!

and all you ask all the families and the sorrow that US have done to this land!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just for her interests..just for money!!!she don't care even for her own people that they fight against a unreal terrorist..

i respect your opinion
we have Democracy...?..?
I WILL FIGHT FOR PEACE
THAT'S MY WAY AND EVEN IF THE GOVERNMENTS ARE CRUEL I CARE FOR THE CITIZENS OF EVERY COUNTRY OF EVERY RELIGION
I DO NOT BELIEVE IN WAR
WE MAKE WAR TO BRING PEACE?
GOD BLESSED ALL THE PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD EQUALLY!
