Technically it is mommy and daddy time, since asari consider the one who didn't give birth still the farther no matter the sex. Also what are they going to do that would require Liara to cover their daughter's eyes?

I don't know.  Maybe as they moving in to share a kiss, Liara was about to put her hand around her daughter's chest, but her aim was off?
