Birthday Dice Bag for Chad

I made this dice bag for 's hubby Chad, who had a birthday this past week. Happy Birthday, Chad!

Chad's going to be my unwitting guinea pig as I test out new crochet patterns for dice bags. With this one I was trying to emulate the classic Crown Royal bag that so many gamers use for dice storage. I didn't quite nail it on this one, but the great thing about crochet is even if it didn't turn out quite as you hoped, odds are it's still going to be just fine. And I definitely know what changes I'm going to make the next time around.

This is quite the handsome bag, if I do say so myself! One thing I'm very thrilled with on this one is the much stronger drawstring I've developed. The strings on Robert's bag are getting stretched out, so I wanted to come up with something more sturdy. These strings shouldn't stretch out any time soon.

The five matched sets of standard size dice and the one matched set of dwarven stones all together only fill the bag about 1/3 of the way. I don't know how many dice Chad has, but this should hold a lot of them! (My dice are there just for the pretty picture, they're not included - sorry, Chad! )

Yarn used: Vanna's Choice in Charcoal Print and some random black yarn from my stash, both worsted weight acrylic
Hook used: Boye aluminum size H
Silver beads from Hobby Lobby
