Earlier this year, I decided to start trying to follow in my parents' footsteps, and wrote a short 28,000 (I go for quality, not quantity) word novella called "The Bane of Twilight". I admit, it was bad, but I recieved good feedback. I recently finished a second one called "A World Elsewhere". It is only slightly longer than my previous work, but the quality may be almost 5 times superior! I think the motto here is that the best way to improve a skill is to put it into use. It required a lot of commitment, but it felt very rewarding afterwards! If anyone out there is writing, then good luck!
