Hi everyone!
It has been a very long time since I was on here! I hope everyone is doing well!

I recently finished my schooling for web design. As a result I created a new website called The Fairy Gathering.

thefairygathering.com/index.sh…

This is a place for fairy artists to have a gallery to help promote their work. I know how hard it is to get recognition and just to get out there. Take a look and let me know what you think! If you are interested in having a gallery take a look at the guidelines page.

thefairygathering.com/guidelin…

All the best,
Holly
I know no one wants to hear about art theft but I found something that might be a potential problem to some artists. I'm not saying that there is definetly theft going on, but I want artists to look out for eachother and warn each other when something comes up. So this is me doing my part, as I don't have time to find all these individual artists.

This will take some searching through, and I just come across it here and there. Everyone knows I'm doing jewelry now, so I've been paying a lot of attention to the use of Polymer Clay. On Ebay and Etsy there are several sellers using photo transfer technique onto polymer clay. Which means any image printed can be made into polymer clay jewelry. Which also means that I have found a LOT of possible stolen artwork. Some with credit some without. I mention the some with credit because it still looks really iffy. So do yourself a favor and search those sites for your stuff, and any of your friends. I found simple searches of polymer clay mermaid (for example) will bring up a lot of items.

Please do not attack the sellers for possible theft, please just let the artist know, that way there wont be any problems, and it doesnt' help to insult those people. Especially if it turns out they have permission.

Thank you for looking! And good luck!

I was hoping by now that I would have new art to post. But of course i don't.
I have been really busy with jewelry commissions, which I'm thrilled with. I have also officially become my own business...just gotta figure out all that icky tax stuff.

But I also made an important decision. I work as a graphic designer, which I love, but in all honesty it gets harder and harder to pay the bills. So for the last few months I've been trying to come up with a new career, that I'm not going to hate. I explored every option imagineable.

Finally I decided I would go back to school for web design...never ever had I considered it. I guess I felt it was too technical and tough for me, but after making 2 websites, I figured it's manageable, and at least theres money available in that career. So 3 weeks ago I started an online certificate which will take me 15 months to complete. So far it is going well! But it eats more of my time then I'd like, so jewelry and art production are kind of snail like.

But this lack of creativity on my part has really helped me to appreciate the artists around me more. I get to see everyones work and enjoy it, and fully appreciate it, because I'm not running off to do tons of art myself.

I do appologize for my lack of being here, but I am faving peoples stuff whenever I have the chance!

Anyways, I hope everyone has a wonderful summer!

Back to school!

Jewellery Line Launched!!!

Journal Entry: Mon Mar 31, 2008, 10:04 AM
My new jewellery line has official launched and my website redone!!! Now you can buy prints and jewellery on my site. www.hollyedwardsart.com

I decided to open a new DeviantArt account. This will be for my jewellery only. I want to keep my visual art seperate from this...that way if you don't like one you don't have to look at it lol! The account is :iconhollys-art: check it out, I"ll be posting more soon!

I don't think you'll be seeing any new artwork from me for a while. I'm really busy right now, I'm trying to redo my website to be more user friendly. I was also looking forwards to launching my Jewellery line. However after having shown the sneak peek photos, on here and also sent to friends and colleages, all my necklaces, including the ones that weren't done, all sold. I am incredibly happy with that :aww:, I feel like finally for the first time I am successful from the beginning, and not having to do years and years of work to get noticed (as most or all of us feel with art). So with no product I have to wait till I have new stuff to launch my jewelery line, I'll post photos from the last 4 that sold, along with the 6 new ones I made today, which will be dry in a week lol!

But I look forwards to seeing everyone elses work on here. And I apologize for not getting back to people due to lack of time. But thank you to everyone who faved my stuff and has shown an amazing amount of support. I hope everyone had a great holiday!!

Etsy!

Journal Entry: Thu Mar 6, 2008, 6:58 PM
I just opened an Etsy account www.hollysart.etsy.com . I have some older nude works up for sale, I need the cash. But the real purpose for the etsy account is to sell my original creations in jewellery. Each one will be hand made and original. I'll post a journal when it's actually launched...it'll be a month or so, but I think people will like them :aww:

New Scanner!

Journal Entry: Wed Feb 13, 2008, 10:40 AM
I finally got a Scanner! I just got the Epson 4490 scanner, and it is really nice! I have an HP that I've had for years and I really dont like it. But this epson is super easy to use, touch of a button, and it doesn't put the file in weird places and in weird formats. I scanned my latest artwork last night, but it's in 2 pieces, so I'm going to piece it together and try to post it tonight. very excited :D

I've got my website up and working properly....I think. hollyedwardsart.com

I finally after many months of working on it, got my own website up! It took me so long cause I had to learn dreamweaver, but it was worth it. Please take a look at it! And let me know if you find any problems...not sure I've got all the kinks worked out yet, I've found a couple I'm still trying to fix, but they're not crucial...I"m just so happy I did it! and theres information missing, because I'm still working on it, but the art is there and thats what counts.
So here it is....

I wanted to thank everyone for their support while I went MIA. Fortunately things are looking up! I've got things sorted out in my life. And I"ve been working on traditional art, which I'm having fun with...but I need some practise.

I'm not sure when I'll get to submit more work, things have been getting progressively worse in my personal life, and I'm not sure how to deal with them right now. Although I always like coming onto DA cause everyone is always so positive.

I just got home from my vacation in Paris, it's really nice to be home, I've got my new computer up and running which i'm very excited about, now i can get back to work. But of course school is just around the corner as well, so i might not get to do as much as i'd like.  oh well.  Just happy to be home.

Defeated

Thu Aug 11, 2005, 12:48 PM
I must admit defeat.

I won't be producing any more art for a while, since my computer has given up on me.  The driver for my graphics card doesn't like me anymore.  So everything is gone from my computer, I lost everything trying to fix it. :disbelief:   But on the plus side I"m getting a new one in 3 weeks.  I just have to endure the long wait....but I will be on vacation for most of that.  At least i have somthing to look forwards too.

Happy Birthday DA, I am very happy to be a part of this awesume community.  And I wish it much success in comming years!
Hi there! I'm new here and I'm very excited about this.  I love Deviants set up and the endless possibilities.  I'm currently trying to get everything up and running, it's going to take more time then i thought it would but that is fine.  Still a little nervous about all this so if i'm doing anything wrong or can improve on anything I'd love to hear about it, but please be nice.  Thanks for taking the time to visit me!
