We left around 7am and spent the remaining 3 hours in front of a GameStop. We were first in line, first one to enter, and first one to leave. :D

They had 14 consoles in stock, with 3 controllers in stock; it was a very long... 3 hours, to say the least. We were all informed that they'd open up the doors at 9am (which wasn't true... doors opened at 10am, as per the usual).

As we waited, a driver passed us by and told us the Target next door had 50 in stock. The longer we waited, several did leave the line and decided to go to Target. Me and the second in line joked to each other that Target ran out, because it seemed like the people who left our line started coming back empty-handed.

Whether this is true or not, I don't care. I got mine. XD Second controller, too.

Thank you Nintendo for, y'know, not fucking this up... Just knowing that our Target had 50 in stock and not 5 like with the fucking NES classic is a step in the right direction.

Funny story: I never would've known the line to collect these things if I didn't make a late night visit to GameStop yesterday. I visited Target initially just to browse, and almost passed on going to GameStop because I was certain they were closed. I was wrong. I had 30 minutes.

So I go to GameStop and I overhear them talk about opening up at 9am, the SNES pre-orders, and the boss talking about the chances a guy might not show up. With this knowledge, I asked for confirmation and he said to be there at 9am sharp.

Well, I wound up there at 7am sharp... and as noted, first one in-- first one out. :D

It did. XD I didn't realize after I bought it that I actually bough an unnecessary third controller, those ones with the turbo buttons and configurations and whatever. XD I'm not gonna give it up though. Maybe it'll work with my PC or in case one breaks, it'll come in handy.

Hm... X3

Well, I booted up Super Mario World by default. :3 Super Mario Kart came next, and then Street Fighter II (to practice the controls), and then ended the night with Kirby's Dream Course. Can't go wrong with a Nintendo-fied golf course. X3

I didn't know Final Fantasy III was two-players though. :D Now I can play with a partner.

I dunno if I'd call myself a retrohead, lol...

It's just that while I do enjoy having modern systems, I regretfully sold all my older systems for a variety of reasons: my first NES was given to me when I was 4 or 5, and I had to sell it when it was breaking down for $30. My N64 was stupidly sold off at a yard sale (games and all) because my mother was desperate for cash at the time. It'll be awhile before I can get all that crap back again. My GameCube broke too at some point, GameBoys lost with time...

So I guess you could say I just want the stuff I once owned back. I never owned and SNES as a kid, but the opportunity came and I ran for it. I can only hope this same stroke of pure luck happens again when the NES Classics return next year.

Congrats on getting it, A-Mock! :D

The SNES was one of the first video game systems I ever remember playing. I'm actually considering on getting it, because A) two controllers and B) It has a couple games that I can't get on the Virtual Console.

My neighbor owned an SNES, but my fondest memories came with the NES. ^^ My reasons for shitting on Nintendo were justified as they made the NES Classic so fucking elusive, lol.

I used to visit a neighbor's place to play Mario Kart mostly, but Sears at the shopping mall always had SNES kiosks at the preview section and I'd spend so many hours on these things. X3

Snagged mine early this morning at Walmart. Only 15 were in stock. Shockingly not that many people were waiting outside for the doors to open at 6am (Our local Walmart isn't 24 hours anymore) so there was just about enough for everybody to get one.

That's pretty cool. :3 For awhile while waiting on my copy I was surprised to see just me and two other people; towards the end though it finally filled up. XD

My biggest regret was not getting the warranty, haha. It went to an unnecessary third controller that I'll wind up now using as a spare.

Virtually everyone passed on the warranty out here too. I was surprised there was any available at all given how pre orders sold out in 3 Minutes

*points at Nintendo headquarters*

Now that they've finally realized their mistake with the NES Classic last time, I now direct my sailing vessel to catch the ever great white Mini-NES Classic whale next, matey. XD Aye. Yarr. It has eluded me for a year now, but, not this time... not this time... :iconmobydickplz:

Savvy? :L

Oh boy, I don't even bother trying to get it down here, I'm pretty sure the price would be crazy high, like... like it always has been with Nintendo stuff, lol.

Congrats once again, by the way!

Thanks, man.

Oh yeah, no doubt. D: ...Pat the NES Punk discussed one recently that's being auctioned off for $1000. Usually they go for $300 from scalpers/re-sellers, but $1000 is insane. X__x
