i love patlabors!! best mecha design ever!
steps : [link]
UPDATE:
yay i got myself another DD!
thanks alot to
for featuring my ingram.
and yes i traced that drawing from my ingram 1/100 Master Grade model kit from Bandai.
why i traced it instead of drawing it myself? this is why:
if you ever build a model kit i'm pretty sure you'll feel the way i do when buiding one. i really appreciate the designs, the mechanism, the efforts of the guys behind the production of the model kit. it's probably the closest thing i'll ever gonna get to the real thing. a mecha. a big big robot. and i get to know how it's like to build them. even though they're a hundred times smaller.
i'm just a casual builder. i don't paint, customize, or even do the linings of my kits. but i loooove my model kit, and rather than just put them on my desk, changing their pose every now and then, or frequently cleaning the dust off, i want to capture their character. i want to immortalize they way that i remembered them. so instead of using them as references only, i made them the star of the show. i took dozens of photos with different poses, pick the "perfect" one, and i traced, add colors, lighting, textures, backgrounds, just add about everything that can recreate the mood.
and here they are! alive and kicking!
so far i only managed to capture 2 of my mechas. ingram and griffon. but i promise that i will do more. i'm thinking of capturing my gundam unicorn right now.
that's it! thanks for looking. patlabor FTW!!

This is great, though I bit Ironic I feel. A dated revolver in a totally kick ass future coat of arms.
