Yndi Halda is an act of few compositions, and only one official release. However, their début contains four tracks of masterful post-rock; beautifully-crafted with wistful cinematic progressions and a heavy use of classical stringed instruments, resulting in a captivating listen from beginning to end. Making extensive use of quiet, almost silent sections - most notably the two minutes of silence at the start of their first track that slowly bleeds into a flowering of emotive sound - these four songs come together to form an entire suite of music that lasts the best part of an hour.
It's essential listening for any follower of the genre, and a fine starting point for those new to the post-rock sound.
