Jakob

Solace - 2006

Cale-Drew - 2003

Subsets of Sets - 2001

Origin Point:
New Zealand

Sounds Like:
Post Rock, Instrumental, Ambient

Jakob's entire discography is great listening; introverted post-rock that can break out into post-metal riffs at any given moment. Their earlier work is much more concise and ambient in sound. I've only included three releases here, but check out everything that you can.

Now, I know the discussion of music can be an emotionally charged subject for some people, but I'm not claiming that anything is better than anything else. This is no more than a soap-box for me to promote music that I enjoy; maybe you'll like it, maybe you won't. That's fine!

If you've any recommendations based on this artist, or wish to promote some music that you yourself enjoy, please do so in the comments. Maybe I'll end up enjoying something enough to feature it myself. :]

And now I have a (daring?) suggestion for you. It electronic music, I haven't really seen that in your Last.fm list... However you do seem to like ambient and progressive.

The artist is called: Trentemøller

And two of his albums are:
The Last Resort
Into The Great Wide Yonder
