Circle the sky
with a serpent-tongue
twister
-caught tall and coiled taut
through the
carbon-knot clouds
of Midgard.

Shiver the stock
with a shadow-wraith
whisper
-and stars will cascade
a coda
from cold boughs
in free-fall:

The world-tree is wilting,
bowed with burnt rope
and the Hangatýr.

Hangatýr is Odin, hanged from Yggdrasil.

I'm not really sure what is going on in this piece to be honest, it came together rather quickly but from a particularly disjointed set of thoughts.

Were you writing this as I was teaching my art class about "Laocoon and His Sons"? If so, that's weirdly psychic.

Do not trust the horse, Trojans!

The oddity of life is further exposed, I feel.

You mentioned the serpent among allot of end time scenarios which must have been what the Trojans saw that night as.

Heh, it certainly didn't end well for them.
Thank-you for taking the time to comment, it's appreciated.

For me, the last stanza especially lends to an intense visual.

I'm fairly happy with how it came out. I needed a reference that wasn't obvious: thank-you Wikipedia!
