City of Angles by Stefan Gagne It's a free web-novel, it's really cool, go check it out and get hooked.
--Something seems to be weirding out in preview compression, please zoom for a non-muddy view :/ --

Along with the other two semi-creepy girl drawings (this one: ...and the madness stares back... and this one: Echo) this concludes a... let's call it triptych, 'cuz I kinda like that word. Other than the source material and the same author, they don't stand much as one whole, though... which, in turn, might be fitting. Go read the books to get what I'm aiming at, I ain't gonna spoil stuff.
I spent quite some time figuring out how exactly to make this one, as the original idea had her looking a lot more ghostly and transparent, there was a hat in plan at one point, there was a lot of different things going on. In the end I just settled on what you see, and I'm pretty satisfied even if this particular image is maybe the furthest off the source material. I 'unno. The reason it's not nearly monochrome like the other two is because she isn't the only character in the frame...
It has occurred to me that a great majority of all of my uploads are female-centric. Well, for the three mentioned here you can blame Mr. Gagne for making good, interesting and inspiring leading ladies in his writing.
For the rest, well, uh. Yeah. Totally. Mh.

I modified and used a couple of brushes from Deharme's TOOLBOX.

Lazy Nezumi not only makes drawing in Photoshop easier, but it makes it a lot more fun, too. Highly recommended, especially since it has a 30 day free trial, so you can make sure it's what you need before purchase.

Originally, it was pink and green, but I kinda had a funny thought that maybe █ should be more tinged with blue instead, due to the event with █ and the █.█.█. and maybe that left a strong impression, a scar of some sorts. It's all just approximation of the mind anyway.
Heh. Redaction is fun.

Glad you like it ^^

Fun fact: When XXXXX and XXXXX appear as little balls of light in Last Exit, they were originally colored pink and blue. I had to remove the colors because people were mistakenly assuming the lights were Echo and Lucid and not those two characters. So, this is actually totally canon!

Huh. Go figure.

That's actually kinda neat.
