Amazing work, man! Nice to see your art being put to good use, it fits the theme so well. Also, not to be.. er.. rude or anything, but I was curious as to how much you made roughly? I'm hoping to do some book covers in future and I've no idea what price one generally sells cover art for. ^^;

there's no hard and fast rule when it comes to price... basically what I tell people is to ask for what you feel comfortable accepting, keep in mind your experience, how much published work you have to show, and importantly the scope of the project. For example I don't charge small press publishers the same as I would a big publishing house. In my opinion, it's always better to start low and get your work out there. That being said, don't sell yourself short either. Decide what the lowest price you're willing to take is and stick to it. If you find no one is buying then maybe you need to re-evaluate your price, but give it some time. Its not an easy thing to get into. If you're just staring out expect low hundreds not thousands and you should do ok.

Okay well we know I already like your tarot so having this on a book cover is really amazing. But.. they tainted your art with a weird title! It sounds like an ad, not a book title! You know.. "The best new paranormal romance -insert REAL title- won critical aclaim for it's [beautiful coverrrrr -yea!!!] blah blah.." Btw, do you read the books you cover? Would you still do the art if the story was bad? Inquiring minds.. ;)

Ha! well its an anthology of short stories and not just a single novel... and so far I haven't read ANY of the books I've covered, but I do plan to read Jade Tiger when I get my copies. The truth is, most of the covers are selected and or created with me knowing very little about the book, so there is a very good chance that my work might be on the cover of a book that I don't personally like, but there's really not much you can do about it... and I do get paid for it, so you just have to be happy with the money and the exposure.

Yeah it's good either way. I just didn't know how it worked, if they asked you to look the book over or gave you a synopsis and said we need something like this.. or if you did it blind. Covers like yours sell books so it's good regardless of content, for the wallet =)

Yet again, the artwork fits the book and is very gorgeous. I love the cover design, too. There's some more for the old pocket, eh? :D
