Spaceship sprites by arboris Spaceship sprites by arboris
A compilation of simple sprites that will be used in a minigame for a AGS game in production. Thought I'de put it up here since it's been a while since I've actually upload anything on DA :)

EDIT:
I've made a tiny sample game with the AGS program a while back, which can be found here:

DOUBLE EDIT:
Over the years I've gotten quite a few request from people who wanted to use this in their own games. So just to be clear about this:

Yes, you can use this for your own purposes, be it non-profit or commercial.

No, I'm not interested in helping with some extra art you might need for said game.

Hi there! I was wondering if you would mind if I used these sprites for a school project I'm currently working on. It's not-for-profit of course, and I would be happy to cite your work. I'm doing a simple remake of Asteroids, possibly adding multiplayer networking to it and some other neat things - I'd also be happy to send you a copy of it if you were interested at all! 'Tis coming along quite nicely. Thanks :]

Awesome, thanks! ^^ And that's awesome, I checked out your game as well, pretty neat! Definitely quite different from mine :P I also ran into the issue that someone else reported, where the menu pops up and wont go away. Still working on mine though, it's currently due by Wednesday, so I'll link you to a copy then. You'll probably need Visual Studio 2008 to run it though - I've been having a lot of deployment issues with the DirectX SDK.

I grabbed your sprites to make a little demo game for a game design course I am teaching. I am not distributing the sprites, I am just telling my students where I got them. Would it be possible to come to an agreement so I can actually put the sprites into the archive for the game? I already give you credit in the README of course. I can't find a license anywhere on deviantart for this stuff. For many people it would be more convenient to download one package instead of assembling the sprites one by one and combining them with my code.

Funny that I've already gotten this request multiple times for this particular piece.

I'm OK with it aslong as it's being used for non-profit reasons. Just provide a source reference for the sprite art, and I have no objection if you include it.

Pixel pushing isnt all that hard. It does take some getting use to tho. Way less space to work in :)

Awesome, Arboris - I haven't been keeping up with the AGS forums as-of-late, but it's awesome to see that the game is still in production and chugging along. The sprites are pretty groovy - I'm reminded of Galaga, or something of that bent.

Keep 'em coming!

Damn, that's a lighting fast reply.

Yea, "chugging allong" is the right choise of word. Hopefully it'll be released some day. But it's a slow process. We work on it every now and then, so no real hardcore commitments.

Believe me, I know the feeling. I'm still technically working on my own AGS project, but it's not exactly moving at that impressive a clip. I guess it's part motivation, part free time, and part inspiration. Nonetheless, looking forward bigtime to the game, yo. Whenever it does get finished.
