About Mirage:

Mirage is a story about a newly crowned emperor named Halifax, and his dangerously strong magical consort, Aydin, also known as the famous “black rider.” Aydin and Halifax were friends and lovers before the civil war, but were torn apart by circumstance and birth. Now they’ve been given a second chance, of sorts, but there’s more than a little bad blood between them. Also the people who follow Halifax hate Aydin’s guts, which doesn’t make things any easier.

Mirage begins in the middle of the desert, in the ancient and noble tribe of the Kush, as Halifax prepares to drag Aydin into a mystical border tag, a thing that judges the souls of those who enter it, and deems them worthy or unworthy of redemption. He hopes that by doing so, Aydin will gain the trust of Halifax’s people. But what he doesn’t expect is an old comrade of Aydin’s so show up with a preposition and a secret. A secret which might turn Aydin against Halifax for sure.

Mirage is a story about forgiveness and understanding, about learning to see beyond the surface and to escape the mirage. It’s also a story about growing up, finding out what really matters, and pursuing that goal with everything you have.
