The Painted World of Ariamis Fanart

Fan art based on the original painting from Dark Souls.

Some aspects deviated from the original design, but I liked how it ended up anyway. :)

Do you know if the 30 x 45in Art Print looks good when it's blown up so large? I'm interested in buying, but I want to make sure it doesn't look pixelated or anything

Hey there,

The digital image isn't professionally taken, but here are some "print size" clippings of what it should look like up close at 30 x 45 inches:

The quality isn't amazing; the smaller the image, the better it will appear.

I've seen a few gameplay thumbnails on YouTube. Have you given them permission?

You're sure it's this one and not the original from the game?
Is there a way to buy a print/replica of this? I would love to have a copy.
Arafelle's avatar
Yep! If you navigate to the side bar on the far right of the screen, DeviantArt provides options to buy copies of this painting.
Hey Arafelle, this is great, is it still available to buy?

What an awesome picture!  If I were to by a canvas, would it be an actual painting or just a print?
Arafelle's avatar
It would be a print. Thank you!

So what have you got sealed away there?
Arafelle's avatar
I'm not sure what you mean? This painting is directly from a video game called Dark Souls.

Amazing job on this painting, its beautiful. How long did this take you? The paintings I do for my classes are only 16"x20" and they take hours, so I can only imagine 50x70 must have been a long project. anyways, the Painted World was used to seal things away that were dangerous to the gods such as Priscilla or the dark ember.

Thank you! I have played Dark Souls a little, since my boyfriend has the game. Haven't gotten so far as to get to the painted world... sadly. I actually painted this for him! This painting took me about 8-10 hours. Lots of brush stippling for the trees! It speeds up the process when you get used to how your brushes lay down the paint. :)

You should definitely play further if you get the time. If not just for the fun and game-play there is a ton of beautiful areas to look at. And 8-10 hours, thats impressive for the amazing job you did in such a short time, I imagine you're quite an experienced painter. Anyways, you've definitely inspired me with this piece. I think I may try and find some areas to paint myself. ^^

He means Priscilla^^
Amazing job, i'm very interested in buying it, i don't really need the printing just the file, thing is i would print it about 85"x120" so i need it at 300 dpi, i'm planning to use it on a wall at home but i'm worring about the resolution, what do you think? cheers and thank you.

Hi Hereskygall,

Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately I don't have the means right now to scan the whole picture in and get an image that is high enough quality to meet your needs. The current dpi of this image is 110 DPI (just checked in photoshop). The maximum recommended size at the moment is 30x45".

Don't worry Kristen, thank you anyway and congratulations again it's a great painting!
