All Pirates Aren't Mean

Black Pearl was the first one to foal this season. Baby decided that she wanted to make her appearance right in the middle of the morning, right after breakfast was dished out to everybody. Birthing was...eventful.

The foal wasn't in the normal position, and instead had one leg curled up below her and the her head curled to the side. This was easily fixed without and issue and she entered the world quickly afterward. Then, after a quick scan by our vet, it was found that she had a fractured rib. Luckily though, that was the end of the issues and she healed rather quickly.

The simple thing to say about this foal is that she is her mother's daughter in that she lacks a mean bone in her. She loves people, and shows it through her tendency to stand for hours while you gives her scratches and pets.But, she did inherit some of her sire's temperament too, mainly the plotting. Unlike her mother, she doesn't outright try to make you smile and laugh. Instead, she sits and observes you and plots out what exactly she can do to make you happy with her.
