The memory of a memory
„This black hair..." Laura tilted her head, surprised. It was a freezing cold night and she was on the way back to the store. The city people were used to ignore the voices of beggars but in this case, the words and HOW the old man said them, his voice, caught her attention. The old man was sitting in the entrance to a dirty alley, which just existed so that the wastes of rich houses could be removed without anybody being bothered by it, except the poor. A dumpster protected him against the wind, a ragged blanket covered his body, his scalp was being protected by a greasy hat. She walked a little closer, something she wouldn't have done

The white room
There was a white room. And when I say white, I mean it. The walls and fourniture were white, the blankets and pillow on the comfortable – white – bed were white, a white teddybear was sitting on the lap oft he pretty young girl on the white chair, wearing a white robe like patients in hospitals do.  She was so young, nine years old whith curly, black hair. The only colored thing in the room were her beautiful blue eyes she hated, with a passion, that were the curse why she couldn't have a mirror. Of course, the main reason weren't her innocent eyes. It was the chromophobia. It started so early, way too early, ruining her life. Ev

The birth of two knights
If this was a fairytale, the day of her birth would have been sunny. Instead, it was a rainy day, bit dusty. It wasn't even a good, scary thunderstorm, just this weather that makes you look outside and pity everybody who has to work there. The sky was grey, the sun was barely coming out, just spending enough light to brighten the room where the noble lady was lying, arching her back and cussing like a sailor while she gave birth to her girl. And in a fairytale, the author would have written two sides with how beautiful the baby was. Truth was, it was still covered in blood and grease, had no hair on his head yet and the midwife compared its

Ghost in the Shell, Anonymous and the Mormons
Today, I wish to talk a little bit about the Stand-Alone-Complex and I already see you, the readers, sit in front of your screen and not understanding a thing. What is a Stand-Alone-Complex (which I'll refer to as SAC in this text) and what does this have to do with these topics in the title? Well, let's start from the beginning. Let's explain what and why and how and everything the SAC is. The SAC is something that was introduced to me first in the Anime-series: 'Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex'. It refers to a phenomenon of mass-hysteria. The basic idea is that the idea of a certain event or person is spread over the media, somethi

Socrates Jones and the nature of morality
Yesterday, I found a wonderful game on newgrounds.com, a game called 'Socrates Jones: Pro Philo' ( http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/625356 ). It is a game whose mechanics remind one strongly of the 'Phoenix Wright'-series - just that it is about philosophy or, more accurately, about finding the nature of morality. Yepp, it is quite a hard game and the fact that I discovered it at 3 in the morning didn't EXACTLY help... BUT. By its mechanisms, it works pretty well. You are, practically, talking with multiple philosophers, including Hobbes, Mills and Kant to find out about their views on morality and critically review them, to find flaws

A small comment on drug legalisation
Dear reader, I hope that I can write this article as unbiased as possible. Note that I have no professional insight in this topic; I'm just commenting on it as an individual who is interested in this certain debate. First, I'll list advantages and disadvantages I see in legal drugs and then write a small final comment. Advantages: -Most of the illegal drug trade, one of the greatest branches of modern crime, would be shut down. There still would be some that provides illegal drugs or VERY cheap drugs but due to the possibility to get drugs legally, this will become a minority. -The drugs will be clean. Because they'll be produced by legal
