This was commisioned by 
for his friend Descendent. He wanted Filly Twilight and Baby Spike observing a raven in the park with Twilights parents looking on. This picture actually has quite a lot of meaning behing it, as descendent is a fan of the brother and sister type relationship between twilight and spike, along with having a raven as his fanfiction avatar who represents him. Finally Twilights parents pulling the piece together by admiring the fascinating and innocence of it all. This was definatley personalized in a way that really speaks to Descendent more than anyone else, which is what makes it so special. ^^
I absolutley loved working on a piece like this, as it really called for a lot of emotion and depth to it.
Especially since it was a gift for someone's close friend (which was amazing to be a part of).

Look at this piece! Look all the detail, everything from the foreground to the back, the shading on the building to every last blade of grass! The expressions on Twilight and her little dragon are so adorable. Two innocent little kids, playing and exploring the world and its wonders. And the parents looking on, adoring the bond and the playing; it really makes me feel young again. Love the raven! His feathers has brilliant shading.
Twilight and Spike definitely have a brother/sister relationship. They grew up together, learned from each other, and have long since taken care of one another, becoming each other's first friend. I can't wait to see more of it in Season 5 — starts April 4th!
