For the best result it is expected that you have Compiz-Fusion up and running

1) Extract the contents into /usr/share/themes folder or into ~/.themes folder
2) Apply the theme
3) Start gconf-editor in order to change the following properties, adding transparency effect for metacity borders:
- /apps/gwd/metacity_theme_active_opacity = 0.75
- /apps/gwd/metacity_theme_active_shade_opacity = checked
- /apps/gwd/metacity_theme_opacity = 0.75
- /apps/gwd/metacity_theme_shade_opacity = unchecked
4) Start ccsm (CompizConfig Setting Manager) in order to change the following properties, adding transparency effect for panels and menus:
- Click "General Options"
- Go to "Opacity Settings" tab
- Click "New" button below
- Set "Opacity window values" = 90
- Set "Opacity windows" - "Dock | Menu | Tooltip | PopupMenu | DropdownMenu"
- Click "Close" button and close ccsm window
5) Reconfigure the current profile of gnome-terminal, changing the colors and adding tranparency effect:
- Click Edit/Current Profile...
- Go to "Colors: tab
- Set "Text color" = "#FFFFFF"
- Set "Background color" = "#282828"
- Go to "Effects" tab
- Turn on transparency effect and set transparency level = ~70%

- Separators in OpenOffice menu use @bg_color
- Insensitive items in OpenOffice menu become dark-green in case if @fg_color is darker than #272727

Just installed the 8.10 beta, and reapplied this theme. Looks slightly different, but still the best I've found. Thanks.

That's because Murrine engine is updated in Ibex.

Yeah, says as much in the terminal window, some features will apparently be outdated in next release *tear*

got a problem with the opacity.
i actually cant set the opacity in ccsm. I put it at 90 but it's always at 100% opacity.

I noticed that it's still impossible to scroll maximized windows on the edge of the desktop (can this be solved theme wise or is it an engine issue?).

The thin borders also difficult window resizing on the bottom right corner by users who don't know how to resize windows using Alt+MMB. Some applications have a hot spot for resizing there (firefox, deluge, rhythmbox, from a quick check), others don't (gnome-terminal, evolution, liferea also doing a quick check on apps I use).

I like it, simple, clean, the orange menu bar gives it a unique look, but doesn't kill your eyes with dark contrastless windows, like NewHuman does right now.

It would be sad to see Ibex getting a dark theme like that. I already tried for the sake of it but I can't seem to adapt to a dark theme either way. It seems that that path is decided though.

I'll take a look trying to solve the issue with scrolling.

Fully agree talking about thin borders from the usability point of view. But anyhow they look much better to me, comparing with standard ones.

You can try my new theme based on Clearlooks.

Oh by the way, try it with the 'evolution' icon set, looks nice.
