I use to fill the canvas with a gradiant and change the value with the balance color, check the video in the description of the painting, you will get it =)

the one before last fits the title perfectly, because he seems to be desperately chasing happiness which brings positive and hopeful feelings to the viewer.

the last one since you changed his legs movement kinda presents sad atmosphere and feelings of defeat.. because he seems to be tripping and falling.

well, that's how I'm seeing things at least :XD: both versions are nice, but the one before last had more impact to me.

Indeed, the movement is different but for the first position, I had difficulties to build the anatomy ^^

Weird enough, but I just love the first brown/sepia-like colors so much more than adjusted. That tone of so called "plain-brown" with add-ons of other colors looks so chocolate tasty. *mmmmm* This really gives inspiration!
Cheers! Keep the good work up!

Yes, vivid colors are your brand, I don't even expect anything less, just with every next drawing, amazement of them grows thinner, although it's always really, really .....*searching word*... vivid. :D

Love the water and how you drew the light reflected in it C: Why the change in the leg positions? At first looks like he is running, with the last panel more like falling. Does that fit more into the idea, that the pursuit of Happiness will have its trying times? :3

When he was running, the anatomy was too hard to build (I still get a lot of difficulties with anatomy) . I changed the leg position, it will be easier, even if in this version, he is falling =)

This is absolutely beautiful! So many emotions come up from this artwork. It feels so wistful. To me, it seems to represent the things in life that we accidentally let slip out of our grasp right before we realized how important they were.

My only suggestion for improvement would be to extend his finger's slightly more towards the bird, but that is the only thing that I can come up with for critique.

Overall, this is a stunning piece of work. The colors play off of each other exquisitely and the motion and emotion of it are very strong. Great job! :)

I love how the colors are blotchy and then they become so smooth when you get details down. Amazing process, it's very inspiring to say the least! :D

It would be interesting to see one of your works done in the colors like in the second image. Your palette is wonderful, don't get me wrong, but still.
