My Bio

Hello to those who are art and create art, and welcome to my page. My name is Sarah and I am a traditional fine artist. My art has been in three art shows thus far, and I only look forward to growing more as an artist. With the exception of composition, I believe art should be free of rules.

Traditional art is my method of painting. I particularly enjoy watercolor and acrylic painting, but more than often I use a variety of mixed media tools. I absolutely love copic markers and love the combination of the marker with paint. My end goal is to paint still life oil paintings and challenge the color spectrum. Someday!

My DeviantArt page is a safe place for all, who seek healing, beauty, acceptance, relaxation. Thank you for being here with me.

Stayin' Alive

Stayin' Alive

Hope everyone's staying well and healthy during these turbulent times. There's a lot going on and there's a lot which needs our kindness, our voice, and our strength in numbers. It's also important to remember to mask-up and protect yourself as well as others during this pandemic. I'm doing well - went on a hike yesterday and spend some time at Timberline Lodge. Just being near Mt. Hood brings me so much joy. And that's important - it's so important to self care during these times. Today, I'm going through a lot of old clothes and going to be donating a bunch of stuff. Also, I have to share: I beat Breath of the Wild this week. Literally, tears were streaming down my face and I just was frozen as I watched the end scenes and credits. Truly, this game is probably the greatest game I've ever played and is probably my second favorite video game of all time. I need to dedicate an entire post just writing a love letter to this game. It's just incredible. Now that I finished the game, I'm

Hello there. <3 Hope everyone is staying safe and well during these times. It's been awhile since my last post, and I've been really busy with life and adulting in general. As far as some news from my end, I ended up resigning from my once-a-month wine steward position because I couldn't work a supplemental winery job any longer, in addition to my full time job, even though I loved it. I still have those connections and wine is a passion, so I'm so thankful for the awesome experience and the knowledge gained. On my last day, I learned a friend and colleague who was out on medical leave due to receiving chemotherapy treatments, had died sud

Happy New Year

Happy New Year

I've been distracted lately, hence my absence from DA. I have new artwork to upload and just haven't done so yet, and there is a reason. The reason why is because for Christmas, my siblings bought me a Nintendo Switch. And for me... a Nintendo Switch is a bit of luxury. I've had my Wii for years, which was used when it fell into my hands, given to me by a friend who didn't want it any longer. And I've always been content to play retro games and visit local arcades. But now, I have this Switch and I am in LOVE. Breath of the Wild has completely awed me, and I am obsessed. This Zelda game rivals my no. one favorite out of the series, Ocarina of Time. I was starting to crochet a Phantasy Star pixel blanket but even that project has been pushed aside, along with my art, so I can play this game. :) While 2020 has had a frightening start politically, personally I am feeling content. I've been encouraged to apply for graduate school by my superiors, and so... I'm finally taking the plunge
