Presonno e prerisveglio by aquadrop Presonno e prerisveglio by aquadrop
Presonno e prerisveglio ...that is, pre-sleep and pre-awakening.

A collage of oniric visions made for a competition names "Medusa aurea" (march 2001): every partecipant was asked to submit 3 pieces of art, and this one was my favourite- I spent nearly a month on it, while it took a week to complete the other two drawings. The judges selected one of the other two!!! What a shame.

BTW, I just noticed an error: the landscape has no depth because it has all the same color; it should lose saturation and acquire brightness with distance...

Media: pastels and softpastels
Dimensions: 70cm x 50cm

Thanx, in fact he's my Art-God, so to say ;)
Well I think anyone has its own peculiar abilities, I draw since I was 3 more or less, who can say what is your ability? The key is to follow what appeals you...

I'm totally impressed by the fact that this is pastel. It's such a messy medium to use but you made it look effortless. The water drops are astounding. I love every bit of detail that you put into this piece. Instant :+fav: for me.

Amazing work, it looks like a lot of time was put into it; you can see it in the detail, I have nothing negative to say about this. :)

I'm glad you don't say anything negative...:D although I see some imperfections in that old drawing... it took me one month of full-time drawing!

Hard (H) pencils for the underlying sketch, and pastels (Stabilo-SCHWAN & Softcolor).
Well, in fact I don't get so bored, but I didn't have so much time to spend on a drawing since 2003... :D

yes,in fact it's all made with pastels... like some other deviations of mine! Check them out (Desert eyerose for example)
Well, I was studying at the time, then I started working - mainly shitty works - which requsted a lot of time and unfortunately I had to draw less... shit happens :(
