Jesus wasn’t white.
When I say that, I’m not talking about art, da Vinci can keep The Last Supper up on his wall.
Turns out it’s part of human nature to make our God look like us in our minds—you can find paintings of Jesus in all skin tones.
So when I say Jesus wasn’t white,
it’s not a critique of art,
it’s a critique of the church.
If a poor middle-eastern man came into the church would we welcome him?
Would we recognize Jesus in the homeless men on the street?
Would we treat Him like we would our white upper class evangelicals?
If this man told us to love our neighbor, that it was hard for the rich and greedy to get into heaven
would we turn our blind eyes and preach the prosperity gospel?
That in pushing a camel through the eye of a needle
white Jesus would give you a Ferrari and a mansion, the desires of your selfish heart?
Jesus wasn’t white.
He was Jewish, the King of the Jews, the King of all creation
and if you can’t accept that then renew your mind
because it is said that He came to shame the “wise.”
Now God Himself transcends race, He is light and life itself
but I think it’s important to remember the Savior of this world was not some opulent white man.
Our Savior got down on his knees and washed the feet of His disciples.
Our Savior came to serve.
So if we say we follow Him, are trying to live like Him,
yet use Him to serve ourselves and push our superiority
then who are we but hypocrites?
Jesus wasn’t white.
He was, is, and always will be the way, truth, and the life.
He will never be white supremacy.

Contradictory attributes of God?
Some people, regardless if they believe or not in God make limitations on God’s power and character, based in human standards, to either disprove His existence or diminish His glory.
One of the most common arguments I hear is:
“If God is omniscient, omnibenevolent and all powerful he knows when suffering will occur (omniscience), doesn't want it to happen (omnibenevolence), and has the power to stop it (all powerful), by the nature of his character, these events would not occur. But they do occur therefore no such god exists.”
First let’s be sure we have the same definitions. According to the dictionary:
---Omni: &

Being a Christian Boring?
Who ever thought being a Christian is boring never really was one. You are being constantly challenged to grow. To grow you have to trust. Trust God. Trust our Lord Jesus. Allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. You need to submit. Submit to God. That's what most people don't want to do. Original sin; like Satan, wants to be God. To have your will done instead of God's Will. That the whole thing. "Thy will be done, Thy kingdom come. On earth as it is in heaven."
People think that married Christians are boring? You know your relationship is for eternity. Not that you still will be husband and wife:
Matthew 22:30

What Being A Christian Means
Does being a Christian mean that I'm proud of every action I make? Of every thought I have? of everything that happens in my life? No. Being a Christian means that I realize that I am imperfect and will NEVER be perfect. Being a Christian is realizing that I need a savior, that I need someone to help me, someone greater than this world. I will discuss what happened to me today, not because I want support through this hard time, I'm getting that from my family, but I will share it because I know there are others out there who have gone through something similar and need to hear this and realize they're not alone.
Ever since I was a little gi

Just something that was on my mind. Sometimes white evangelical culture really bothers me.
"The wise will be put to shame; they will be dismayed and trapped. Since they have rejected the word of the Lord, what kind of wisdom do they have?" Jeremiah 8:9
Edit: Wow, didn't expect this to get kind of popular. For those of you that are wondering what I mean by white culture, I answered it in one of the comments. It's more of a mix of groups and social trends than any one thing/group. Also, watch this great video from ChaseGodTV, "What Did Jesus Look Like?":www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2nq-v…
This poem is not just to talk about race but the issues of class that come along with it.
EDIT 11/10/16: Going to post a long journal entry and/or a piece of prose about the election soon, but for now, my goodness, this poem could not be more important. Donald Trump won by pandering to evangelical Christians with racist rhetoric and I am just so mad. So many people were deceived into thinking this man is a Christian when just a few seconds of hearing him talk tells you he's not. People who were confused by what I meant when I said white evangelical culture, this is it. The election results are an incredibly awful display of what that culture is.
